BragBet is a new social betting concept in which groups of friends rely on each others’ sporting instinct and knowledge to bet online and beat the bookie. Teams of friends deposit cash into a joint pot and take turns as team captain each week, to decide how the pot is used and to place bets on different sporting events. All team members share their daily suggestions on the social networking site, agree or disagree with their friends’ choices and boast about their successes. Leaderboards, allowing team members and their opponents to see which team, captain or tipster is performing the best, add to the competitive nature of the service. BragBet supports an array of sports including football, rugby, tennis, cricket, darts, basketball, Gaelic football, hurling, baseball and Australian Football League, with more to be introduced. All odds offered and bets placed in BragBet are handled by a tier one bookmaker partner. BragBet is available online and is also optimised for use via mobile devices.
